Sneaker Sunday is literally going places. It has thus far, been written in the Philippines and now in New York! Whooooooooohoooooooooo! Hello New York! I’m living on Wall Street in the financial district and the buildings are really pretty.

The flight here was long especially the one from Hong Kong to NYC. But hey, I’m here in The City that Never Sleeps, so I’m not really complaining. I’m definitely thankful we had a stop over in Hong Kong cause you know how you cant really stay too long in the airplane. Michelle and I spent a solid 9 hours in the huge Hong Kong International Airport and it was tough trying to keep ourselves awake. The whole trying to tune your body to a different timing was difficult. We had a long battle with the sleep monster because when we got on our second flight, it was close to a full 24 hours that we hadnt slept.

Since this post is about travelling comfortably (the New York flight was a long haul one – 15 hours) and how you dress is highly important, sneakers were of course the obvious choice. Violet used them when she was moving and now Im using them for travel!

These sneakers were made for walking.

Pink Ed Hardy

I brought my bad a*s Ed Hardy shoes out for a spin. They lasted me through the Hong Kong and New York flight and probably will take me to some cool places in the City.

I got these babies in Philippines and no, they dont come with laces! :D That’s what I love most about them – they were made not to have laces. Everytime I wear them, people ask if I took the laces off and if I did, how come the sides never seem to fall open. Heehee. That’s because they were meant to be without laces and there are buttons on the inside to secure the sides. How clever!

Since I’m back in the City where these shoes originally came from, I wonder if I can get more Ed Hardy sneakers. Please excuse me while I head out shopping. Violet, in the meantime, I’m sure will entertain you with her Sneaker Sunday post. I think I just found me another pair of new awesome sneakers!

Who are the hottest boys you know? Throw me some names people! Ryan Reynolds easily tops my list of hottest men. Oh please don’t get me started on that scene of him in “The Proposal”. :D I was going to feature him this week for Sneaker Sunday since Violet and I are paying tribute to the people whom sneakers were made for, but decided that some good things cannot be shared. Hahaha.

I’m no expert on men’s fashion, but boys and sneakers are always a good combination in my opinion. Sneakers can pretty much take a boy’s outfit anywhere: sneakers and casual jeans, sneakers and a formal blazer. Oh yes, sneakers make for good footwear with almost any outfit. They’re comfortable, stylish and add a touch of boyish charm to his outfit.

This week, we take a leaf out of the pages of a celebrity boy to see what sneakers he’s wearing and how he wears it.

Taylor Lautner of Twilight and New Moon fame wears this awesome high cut sneaker from Creative Recreation Cesario. I really love how the black finish of this pair can be taken from day to night. And you know how I have this thing for high cut sneakers right? So any boy who wears them gets the thumbs up from me. Taylor wears them with Diesel Darron jeans topped off with a simple cotton round neck tee and aviator shades.

Ahhhh.. Simple, casual and sleek.

I’d love for all boys to dress like this. I’m quite sure they would love to too because despite the simple combination, the look is polished yet relaxed. Sneakers are the way to go! In fact, Violet’s beau tells you exactly why he likes sneakers in this week’s post.

Although Taylor pulls off this style effortlessly, I’m sure I could do that same. Hahaha. So for next week’s Sneaker Sunday, I’ll post my outfit with sneakers. Stay tuned!

Have a Happy #sneakersunday Mother’s Day!

Have you gotten mum a present for Mother’s Day yet? Maybe mum would like a new pair of sneakers as a gift. :D

If you have been following me on Twitter, I have been going on and on about my sneakers Sunday after Sunday. After a brilliant stroke of creativity, I have unofficially dubbed Sundays Sneaker Sundays. What exactly is Sneaker Sunday? It means that sneakers are a MUST wear of my outfit that very day. We wear pretty and possibly crippling shoes most days of the week, so what better day to give your feet an off day than on Sunday!

Look cute without crippling foot pain!

Sneakers are to me what pancakes are to breakfast. I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT SNEAKERS (just like how I cannot live without pancakes too. Anyone know where you can get great pancakes?). Everyone has at least once tasted pancakes and I’m more than sure than everyone owns at least one pair of sneakers. They are comfy and a must have next to your killer pair of heels.

As for me, I’ve lived in sneakers most of my life especially back when I was dancing in University. We’d wear high cut sneakers, regular sneakers, skater shoes, Adidas sneakers or even sneaker boots. Flats were a must because dancing hip-hop in heels was best left to the celebrities. If I could nickname myself, I would most likely name myself Sneaker Girl because I’d pay for an awesome pair of sneakers in a heartbeat. If I could, I would also live in sneakers and jeans because I swear they are the ultimate comfort combination. Sneakers, skinny jeans and a fitted tank top, simple yet stylish. Just like how I’ve worn them here.

Sneaker US Master Shoes

These are my U.S Master sneakers in a dark blue/black. I can’t remember when I got them since they’ve been around for quite a while. I don’t think I’ve ever worn them to dance (or have I?). But I really like to wear them with denim jeans and skirts because they look totally preppy and are so lightweight. I cheat and never undo the laces, EVER. I always slip my foot into the shoe without untying the laces. What I also like about this pair is the thin soles. They are flexible and thus, make walking or running easy.

Because sneakers are the BEST THINGS ON EARTH, Violet LeBeaux and I have decided to pay tribute to our awesome sneaker collection. What we’ll do is post a Sneaker Sunday article on of course, Sunday! This is where we post a snapshot of our shoes (bottoms optional) or anything related to sneakers and/or flats. The best part is, we want you to join in too! I’m sure everyone owns at least ONE pair of sneakers.

What we’ll do is we’ll post a picture of our sneakers and tweet about it on our respective accounts with the hashtag #sneakersunday. This is to make searching for tweets related to Sneaker Sunday easy. You too can tweet and do the same if you have a Twitter account. To link all Sneaker Sunday posts together, we’ll post your shot on our Gallery because we want to make a collection of all the awesome sneakers that people own! Alternatively, you can send me your photos (daydweam@gmail.com) and we’ll post it on our Gallery with your blog link on it.

Get how Sneaker Sunday is run? If you’re still not sure, VioletLeBeaux shows you how it’s done on her blog, after which it’s your turn to SHOW ME YOUR SNEAKERS! ;)
