Jipaban

The first time I shot with Jipaban was last December for their December Editor’s Pick. It was a special shoot because it was a Power Blogger Editor’s Pick and we had special guests from Parenting blog OurEverydayThings on set at the shoot! Mommy Leonny came with her three little darlings in tow.

OurEverydayThings

Baby Brie is a sweetheart. We had so much fun playing with her because she is such a well-behaved and darling girl. Not only was Mommy Leonny featured in December’s Editor’s Pick. Baby Brie was photographed alongside her two other elder siblings in the Jipaban Gift pick! It was a shoot full of laughs and smiles because they are all naturals in front of the camera.

For the women’s section, Mommy Leonny and I were featured in various outfits! And we had access to all of Jipaban’s awesome accessories and clothes because we shot in their warehouse. Everyone loves to be surrounded by gorgeous loads of clothes, shoes, bags and accessories!

December was also a special month because I was featured on their banner for Christmas!

And now less than a month later, I’m featured on their Chinese New Year banner too!

Jipaban Chinese New Year

The shoot for the Chinese New Year lookbook happened over last weekend. It was again one full of shoes, bags, accessories and lovely new clothes for the upcoming Chinese New Year festivities. Although it was a long shoot, I had sooo much fun shooting with new models: beautiful Sam, the face of Jipaban Clara and a guy model, James!

We shot on location at a house that was all perfectly set up for Chinese New Year. Because you can see the full lookbook on the Jipaban website here, I’m going to show you some of my favourite unreleased shots with Sam! We spent so much time together at the shoot together, she almost feels like a sister to me now. I posted a photo of us together and some people commented that we even looked alike!

Almost Famous

In preparation for my one month stint in Brazil, searching for lovely dresses to wear during the pageant is one of my main priorities. I chanced upon Almost Famous, a local online boutique, and was delighted to find that it stocks the prettiest dresses and tops. I’m ashamed to admit that as a beauty queen, I have a terrible lack of appropriate dresses to wear for all sorts of events. After browsing their website, I decided I would add a couple of their casual and evening dresses to my stash of clothes.

Almost Famous Cross-the-line Dress

Their Cross-the-line dress caught my eye with its crew neckline at the front and back scoop neckline. Because it’s sleeveless and ends mid-thigh, its perfect for Brazil weather in the day. But what really blew me away was the comfortable material and its ability to hug your curves in all the right places. That’s highly important, in my opinion, if you want to make an impression.

Almost Famous Dresses

Then there’s the Duo-toned Paneled Dress that’s a fantastic quality bandage dress in stretchy fabric with a diagonally criss-cross pattern on the bust. Available in two colours, the black one is a fuss-free dress that will take you from any day to night event in the blink of an eye. But if you prefer something that’s a little cuter and dressier, the sweetheart neckline, front bow and intricate flower detailing of the next dress is something that will get heads turning.

Almost Famous Babydoll Corset Dress

Now am I glad I managed to get my hands on this very popular Babydoll Mesh Dress. With its tie up corset top and very cute mesh, pleated, flare skirt on the bottom with wired hem, this dress evokes a little bit of girly glamour without being overly cute. Paired with killer stilettos and a glamourous clutch, this sexy dress is something I’d definitely wear on dinner date or a formal party when I want to dress to impress.

Because items from Almost Famous are both lovingly sourced & carefully manufactured to be of superior quality and of desirable cuts, you can be sure you, the very fashionable lady, will find something you like at Almost Famous. On top of that, each new collection launched weekly consists of over 25 new items. That’s a 100 new items to choose from a month! Hooray to buying new clothes every month! If you’re a first time shopper, sign-up with their mailer and instantly get a FREE $15 store credit for your very first purchase at Almost Famous.

I’ve about 3 more weeks before I leave for Brazil. I’ll be following Almost Famous on their Facebook page to get exclusive previews, news and updates on their upcoming collections. I’ll even add a couple more of their dresses to my already existing stash should something catch my eye. You can never be too well-dressed when you’re meeting new people.

Other than Sephora, Victoria’s Secret was the other store that I was dying to step into here in New York. I’m a BIG die hard fan of Victoria’s Secret and my underwear closet is pretty much made up of all their stuff. I also refuse to wear any other work pants other than theirs thanks to the great length and cut of their pants. And it’s such perfect timing that Michelle and I are here in the States because it’s time for the VICTORIA’S SECRET SEMI ANNUAL SALE!

Now, THIS is the sale that most girls would die for. Panties go for USD$3.99 while bras are reduced by almost half price. Everything on sale is put into pink bins only differentiated by their sizes, and girls dig through it pulling out items like hungry vultures.

Because it’s a Monday afternoon, this crowd is mild compared to the one we first encountered on a weekend.

In fact, all the shelves are neatly packed and nothing is strewn on the floor. Haha.

After my virgin experience digging through the buckets of adorable underwear and bras and discovering treasures, it was hard not to walk out of there feeling like a million bucks. The red/pink bags are absolutely cute too! It’s probably hard for guys to wrap their minds around how much money women will spend on inner wear that no one else can see, but I say a cute underwear and good bra will serve to keep your spirits up in all situations.

Lingerie is not all that Victoria’s Secret stocks. Beauty products also make up a good part of their product range. The Secret Garden collection is one of their more famous ranges, and they too were on sale! I got mini bottles of fragranced hand sanitizers from the Secret Garden range, some lip glosses, lip palettes and body mists from the Dream Angels collection alongside some really cute undies which I obviously will not show. :P

Even though I am such a big fan of VS, I only just found out they have a standalone Victoria’s Secret PINK store that caters specially to their PINK range! This particular range targets younger girls with their collegiate collection in vibrant colours. Graphic tees, hoodies, underwear and lounge wear emblazoned with the signature PINK logos can all be found in this range.

PINK by Victoria’s Secret is located at the junction of Broadway and Prince Street.

Victoria’s Secret stores, on the other hand, are located at:
Broadway (SOHO)
591-593 Broadway
New York, NY 10012

Fifth Avenue
115 5th Ave
New York, NY 10003

South Street Seaport
19 Fulton Street
New York, NY 10038

86th St – Upper East Side
165 E 86th St
New York, NY 10028

Sponsored Review

Carry my heavy as a brick bag, and the first question you’ll ask is, “What’s in your bag!?!” (exclamation marks optional.) I will admit, without hesitation, that I carry a truckload of beauty products in my bag on a daily basis. Heehee. I’m quite a smell person, so naturally perfumes and body mists make up the majority of the things I bring. But look carefully and you’ll wonder what a pink bunny wabbit is doing inside my bag.

Being a beauty junkie, when I was offered to try the Soap ‘n’ Sorbet Steam Cream, I jumped at the chance. Steam Cream! Is it anything like steam cake? Sounds yummy! Gimme gimme gimme.

It’s delish sounding name and the fact that it contains lavender oil made it hard to resist. Lavender oil has antiseptic components which can help heal and reduce inflamed and sore skin. It is also a known fact that lavender helps induce sleep on top of improving blood circulation. Take a deep breath with me now everybody. Ahhhh…..

Opening the screw cap, the cream is visibly slighty runny but smells absolutely delish. It is light weight and applies easily onto your hands, body or face. Massage the cream gently to your desired spot, and viola, it magically disappears leaving your skin softer to the skin and smelling oh-so-good.

This natural multi-purpose cream comes packaged in eco-friendly (yay for going green!) aluminium tins, each individually decorated with eye-catching art designed in Japan. Each design is run as a limited edition print, so presenting this to anyone as a present would be perfect. You wouldn’t be able to find another one like it! Porky Rabbit is now a member of my family of beauty products.

Chock full of natural and vegan ingredients like oatmeal infusion, orange flower water, almond oil, lavendar oil, organic jojoba oil and cocoa butter, SGD 26 is a reasonable price for quality skincare handmade in England. Using a steam-infused process, the result is this luxurious vegan cream that me, the skin nazi, would slather all over my body just to pamper myself.

Soap ‘n’ Sorbet, a delightfully easy-to-navigate Singapore website, is the first to stock this delish sounding Steam Cream for your enjoyment. The wide assortment of beauty and lifestyle products are thoughtfully categorised into various groups for easy searching. Be it bath, makeup, skincare or fragrance, you name it, they got it alongside the best-selling Steam Cream.

I already hear the beauty addicts cheering, but shopaholics, this is the best news for you. The Great Singapore Sale is still going on and will go on till the end of June. This means, A WHOLE MONTH of shopping! And on top of that, they just launched 12 new adorable designs that run in limited quantities. So, are you ready for some luxurious pampering? Let’s get Steam-y!
