I have about 5 days left in this sunny little island before I leave for the Philippines for a month.

The preparations have been mad because every little detail has to be prepared for. I honestly havent had time to update because almost everyday when I reach home I’m exhausted. But I’ve been really blessed to have people around me supporting me and showing love. My parents especially have been very understanding and mum has been awesome about taking time to do back-breaking work with sewing my National Costume. You would not believe how hard it is to take something and recreate it to look good.

On top of preparations, some exciting events have happened over this week. Exciting stuff that I have to write about hopefully soon. I suspect however, that I will have a backlog to do when I return in a month. Dont forget I still have to update about the internationals which I’m sure many of you are looking forward to! There’ll be tonnes of photos, I’m sure, since there will be so many gorgeous girls in one room.

I’m crossing my fingers they have wifi in the resort. Haha.

1) Nuffnang Blog Awards

Thank you Nuffnang for the awesome event that saw bloggers from all over Asia-Pacific (Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Australia) congregate to celebrate the best of blogs. A distinguished event at a posh hotel. Everyone that night was dressed to the nines.

With my lovelies for the night.

My get-up that night.

2) Bintan!

After the adrenalin of the blog awards, I was whisked away on a ferry to Bintan Resorts for a company retreat. AWESOMENESS! I’ve never been to Bintan Resorts before and I enjoyed the beautiful beaches alongside some team-building games amidst the lush greenery.

3) Chek Jawa on Pulau Ubin

Discovering uncharted territories. You’d be surprised at the amazing wildlife that you can find there, a small island. I’m definitely going back there when I get back from the Philippines. Seeing all the various sights got me trigger happy! We were also lucky we went a little bit later and got to see the breathtaking sunset.

For now, I need to start packing.

This sunny little island is called Singapore.

The smorgasbord of food one can find here in Singapore is probably one of the characteristic hallmarks of our tiny red dot. That and the fact that we’re a multi-racial society that tolerates and embraces differences, adds to the unique flavour of this place we call home.

1. I HATE mint: mint leaves, mint sweets and even mouth wash that tastes like mint. Vietnamese paper rice rolls all have mint in them and I usually order them without the mint.

It’s kinda weird how I dislike only certain types of mint though. Till date, I still cant figure out if it’s spearmint or peppermint that I dont like.

2. I’m a sneaker kinda gal. I could live in my Converse and Adidas sneakers all day, all over the world.

3. The biggest fashion faux pas I’ve ever committed is dressing like a $5 hooker for a dance performance. Ripped stockings, bright orange top over a bright cyan bandeau. Never. Going. There. Again.

4. I eat tau huay, toufu and tempe but dont like the taste of tau pok and tau gua.

5. I generally have a high threshold for pain and that’s made even higher when it’s day 19 to 21 of the cycle. Post ovulation is great because sensitivity to pain is low! I calculated and that’s just in time for me to schedule a facial before the Nuffnang Blog Awards! I can sleep through extraction and not feel a thing. When I wake up, my face will be all clean! HOORAAAYY for low pain sensitivity!

6. I’m such a gadget-phile. I use an iMac, carry and iPod Touch and love my Blackberry to death. Oh I also have DSLRs. Well, technically one’s my brother’s. But we exchange and swap our cameras all the time.

I had epic ideas for this post. Haha but the first one required me to source out a stage and there was a lack of actors for it. This one was slightly easier to carry out, but thankfully an opportunity gathering with the posse also presented itself in line with this second idea. They were all very sporting in just doing their own thang and letting me point a camera at them. Haha. Seekrit cam-whores they are.

See you at the blog awards!

My weekends are getting much too exciting. I dont even have time to update on one event and suddenly, the next one appears. I need to sit and catch my breath.

Last Friday, or rather, 2 Fridays ago on the 19th was the Singapore River Festival launch and I got to sit on the DuckTours boat with famous bloggers! Wo0o0o0ot!

Underage-girl. Xiaxue. BossMing.

Myself. Pinkpau. Nadnut.

Group picture on the boat.

Our boat was super chio because it had plush red sofa seats, while others had yellow plastic seats.

We even had a gu-zheng player at the front. Not that I think many of us were actually listening to her play, since we were busy taking pictures of the wonderful scenery. But her music did provide a soothing effect to the boat ride.

Seriously, this boat ride is a must-take for everyone because you get to see Singapore from an entirely different perspective with the wind in your hair. We toured around the CBD area, Boat Quay, past the Merlion and eventually ended up at Clarke Quay.

OMG. Gotta love my eye makeup here.

Getting off the boat.

Headed off to Arena for the after-party. Make sure you have your invites and red heart stress ball!

The queue for entering Arena! It was super long. Everybody wanted in.

Inside Arena.

Half nekkid people singing and dancing on stage.

Then there are the hot people dancing in their PJs off-stage.

Hello what’s this? A chio bu!

“Excuse me Miss. Can I know you?”

Turning around…. WAH!

Sia la! It’s Kenny Sia!

Kenny was definitely the center of attraction in his hot pink low cut nightie.

Group picture with the star!

Hey look! My mum and dad came along for the ride too! Gotta love parents who are always so sporting. <3

Did you see my flashing post?

Yes, the one where I flashedddd…..

PAJAMAS!

The post where I had pictures of Xiaxue in her pajamas, exposed underage-girl’s sexy leopard print lingerie , captured Sheylara in front of the camera with my own and stripped ice-angel down to nothing but a big white shirt.

They’re all flashing flesh. How could you miss it?

In fact, the whole of Orchard Road was wondering what these crazy people were doing in the middle of the day dancing their pajamas!

Here are the snap snots!

But WAIT! There’s EVEN more.

A video of the day’s events! What better way to experience the event itself than to watch a video of it?

[youtube= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W73O2iRot1Q]

We had so much fun as you can obviously tell! Bloggers creating history AGAIN! The very first time we created history was when we had our first Blogger Blood Donation Drive and this time we make the record books again, but with more of you! Yipeee!!

Not to sound like we’re gloating, but we who attended the flash mob that very day will get a special tour this Friday by the Nuffies at the launch of the Singapore River Festival! Privileges galore!

Super super love to Nuffnang!

Oh did I mention that this very heart will get you access to the ULTIMATE PYJAMA PARTY @ The Arena after the DUCKtours? Yes, you will need this stress ball heart during that party because of all the hot people in their skimpy pajamas. Haha. Yes, pajamas are a MUST for this party, otherwise you will not be granted free access to the The ARENA. And if you dont get into the party, you’ll miss the FREE DRINKS! Hurray for a cheapo clubber like me!

Breathe and count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5…..

But to get your heart racing before that, they’ve got an aerial acrobatic performance 10m above Read Bridge. It’s sure to get your hearts racing when they perform death-defying stunts too high from where you are standing. But the Dance Musical after that might help to calm you down a little as it is a heart warming love set set in quaint 1900s.

Awwwwwwwwww…..

I can already imagine the beautiful sights and wonderful theatre props on the river itself. Definitely bringing my huge DSLR along for the ride!

But dont despair if you cant be around for the first day of the Singapore River Festival. The entire Festival runs for NINE whole days till the 27th of June, anytime from 6pm onwards..

If you dont know what the Singapore River Festival is about, read this excerpt from their website.

From Boat Quay and Empress Place to Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay, the whole river will come alive with free events and activities. Revellers will be spoilt for choice with nightly activities that include a specially commissioned romantic musical and bumboat parade, paying tribute to the people of the river, a music festival celebrating our vibrant musical past, spectacular aerial performances, a Mojito festival, themed parties, an attempt at a record-making performance of mega illusions and a dance marathon.

In a nutshell, it’s a sun-down PARTY!

Absolutely free for nine days!

This one is a definitely must-attend.

But maybe you’d much prefer something more sit down and visual.

Oh oh! And for the dance lovers!

YAYYYY!

This sounds really good too! Cuban Jazz is reallllyyy sexy.

I cant decide which event sounds really good to attend! They all are bringing out the art appreciator in me again! Argh. I miss the arts so much. Check out http://www.singaporeriverfestival.com for more of the exciting and exhilarating events! There are just so many to choose from!

We’re on our way to the Singapore River Festival! Are you?
