It’s time to bring out your best dresses because it’s party time! Other than laying my hands on all the new make up, the best thing I find about the end of the year is the parties you get to attend. With parties come the perfect excuse to get dressed up to the nines. So go on, pull out your most glamourous dress, deck yourself out in your most brilliant make up and you’re all set to paint the town red.

The only problem I find with having so many parties to attend is repetition of clothes. You definitely dont want to be stuck with the same outfits for all your events. At the same time, blowing the month’s budget is definitely out of the question. So what do you do? Well, I turn to the shop that manufactures its own quality clothes inspired by designer fashion houses at a fraction of the actual price.

Fashion moguls would agree that the little black dress is one of the fashion staples. Without a doubt, monoxious would agree wholeheartledly on the choice of colour too. Thus, this Armani Exchange inspired dress with a cross front is a stunning piece to get if you dont already have a little black dress to turn to.

For SGD 29, this body contouring and sillhouette defining dress is set to be your best go-to dress for any occasion. In fact, it was set in the style of Victoria Beckham and I naturally had to take a photo with the Miss Earth girls from UK while wearing it. Haha.

If your days are filled with high teas and shopping sprees, AngelicoBeBe’s full length jumpsuit is my new favourite thing to wear. Soft to the touch and comfortable to live in, this ASOS’s inspired Open Back Jumpsuit is of super quality because it’s self-manufactured.

ASOS Inspired Jumpsuit

Married with a gathered waist and plunging v-neckline flowing seamlessly to a pair of straight cut pants, the cutting at the back gives an illusion of a slim and defined waist and in my opinion, shows just the right amount of skin. The full-length jumpsuit fits perfectly and gives you a slim and long silhouette. Instead of paying close to £ 70 for the original, AngelicoBeBe’s lovingly manufactured one goes for a mere SGD 34. Much too little to pay for quality like this.

Little Black Dress

If I’m getting ready for a night out on the town with my girls, I pick AngelicoBeBe’s self-manufactured little black dress with corset detail. Inspired by Guess and Victoria’s Secret, this sexy little number is the perfect outfit for a first date or a night of letting your hair loose in a club. Steal this look for SGD 28 from their website or get the dress in 2 colours for SGD 52!

I’m not entirely big about designer clothing because I am a beauty blogger. But when stylish designer fashion clothing is brought to you and made easily available at such affordable prices, online shopping is much too tempting! I’ll say it definitely pays to look good and AngelicoBeBe can help you achieve that with their original, self-manufactured items. Because they offer quality stunning pieces at reasonable prices, it’s no wonder that their items are always disappear in an instant!

This December, AngelicoBeBe is giving away a Coach wristlet to help complete your outfit. Every dress you buy entitles you one chance to win and you definitely want to get as many chances as you can before the lucky draw ends on the 31st December. So, to get your hands on their fabulous clothing for your next Christmas party AND land yourself a brand new Coach wristlet, head on down to their AngelicoBeBe’s store and happy shopping!

Sneaker Sunday is literally going places. It has thus far, been written in the Philippines and now in New York! Whooooooooohoooooooooo! Hello New York! I’m living on Wall Street in the financial district and the buildings are really pretty.

The flight here was long especially the one from Hong Kong to NYC. But hey, I’m here in The City that Never Sleeps, so I’m not really complaining. I’m definitely thankful we had a stop over in Hong Kong cause you know how you cant really stay too long in the airplane. Michelle and I spent a solid 9 hours in the huge Hong Kong International Airport and it was tough trying to keep ourselves awake. The whole trying to tune your body to a different timing was difficult. We had a long battle with the sleep monster because when we got on our second flight, it was close to a full 24 hours that we hadnt slept.

Since this post is about travelling comfortably (the New York flight was a long haul one – 15 hours) and how you dress is highly important, sneakers were of course the obvious choice. Violet used them when she was moving and now Im using them for travel!

These sneakers were made for walking.

Pink Ed Hardy

I brought my bad a*s Ed Hardy shoes out for a spin. They lasted me through the Hong Kong and New York flight and probably will take me to some cool places in the City.

I got these babies in Philippines and no, they dont come with laces! :D That’s what I love most about them – they were made not to have laces. Everytime I wear them, people ask if I took the laces off and if I did, how come the sides never seem to fall open. Heehee. That’s because they were meant to be without laces and there are buttons on the inside to secure the sides. How clever!

Since I’m back in the City where these shoes originally came from, I wonder if I can get more Ed Hardy sneakers. Please excuse me while I head out shopping. Violet, in the meantime, I’m sure will entertain you with her Sneaker Sunday post. I think I just found me another pair of new awesome sneakers!

Think of sneakers and laces are probably the first things that come to your mind. Sneakers and laces are like breakfast and pancakes; you can’t exactly have one without the other. But there are probably 257941134 ways to tie your laces and each can make your sneaker look different. It’s rather amazing what laces can do for your sneakers. So, how do you tie your shoe laces? Here’s how I usually do mine.

Some people like to leave a big floppy bow at the top of their sneakers but I prefer to criss-cross my laces and tuck them inside my shoe so clumsy ol’ me never ever runs the risk of tripping over my own laces. That being said, I also never ever have to undo my laces whenever I put my shoes on. I simply slip my foot into my sneaker! Hooray for laziness!

Another variation to the lazy girl no untying method is doing your laces straight across. How cool is that! I’ve always seen these laces on the awesome sneakers of skater girls and boys.

But guess what, if you’re a big fan of having your laces straight across, I’m about to show you how to make your cool laces even cooler in this week’s Sneaker Sunday post. Sneakers are meant to be cool, and with the right laces, you can make them so chilly it’s almost like the North Pole. Lol. Pardon the cold joke. HAHAHAHA.

All you need to jazz up your sneakers is a shoelace of your favourite colour. But if you are like me and couldn’t get the colour you wanted, I opted for a gold ribbon measuring the same length as that of your original shoe lace.

Start at the lace nearest to your ankle. Push the coloured lace under the first lace and then bring it over the second one. At the third lace, go over again and under the fourth shoelace. See the pattern yet? Good. You want to alternate and weave the coloured lace over and under the original lace on the shoe. Keep the weave as straight as possible.

When you reach the last lace on your shoe, fold the decorative lace over the bottom lace and slip it under the shoelace above it. Repeat the weave by going over and under again next to the weave you already did previously.

It takes a little patience to finish the entire grid but keep going over and under the laces and when you finally finish weaving the entire grid, tuck the loose end into the shoe and viola, your laces are now super cool awesome laces. Here’s how your regular laces should look like after.

What do you think?

If jazzing up the laces aren’t enough for you, you have to check out what Violet did to make her shoes stand out! They are amazing!

We have super sneakers this Sunday! Happy Sneaker Sunday everyone!

When you have a food blogger amidst your group of friends, you just tend to go on far too many food adventures. *looks sadly at the ever expanding waist line*

So to conceal whatever love handles, you dress in your most comfy outfits. That being said, you also want to remember to always get into a pair of comfy sneakers. Crossing the country in searching of your favourite grub is no mean feat, and subjecting your soles to stifling conditions will leave you with some unhappy feet. To please both your stomach AND keep your feet happy, sneakers are the best way to go!

Hooray for looking cute without crippling foot pain!

I recently re-discovered this pair of R20 sneakers *cough* under my bed. I bought them almost 2 years ago in Kuala Lumpur in a sneaker store in Sungei Wang and then they somehow mysteriously disappeared.

I had always wondered where they were. Could have sworn I bought them. Because I couldn’t find them, I honestly at times doubted whether I even HAD them. Lol. Maybe it was all part of my imagination. I could POSSIBLY have dreamed I bought them. I wanted them so bad that I thought I bought them. It wasn’t till Sneaker Sunday conceptualised that I asked my mum if she’d seen that pair of sneakers. Lo and behold, with some le3t investigative skills, she found them in their original box. I swear, my mum is the best at searching for my missing stuff.

I love how the sneakers are white with hints of gold trimming and lovely prints on the side. They’re cute yet spunky. On my food adventure, I wear these R20 sneakers with a cute denim flared skirt from B.U.M Equipment and white long sleeved cotton tank top from Victoria’s Secret. These are my favourite pair of sneakers currently because of the cushy interior that makes my feet feel like it’s walking on air. Teehee. I always always tuck my laces in when it comes to sneakers to save me the hassle of tying my laces everytime. Yes, I am lazy.

But you shouldn’t be because you need to go check out Violet’s cute retro inspired outfit NOW, or I will zap you with the back of my shiny Blackberry! Sneaker Sunday has made it through an entire month! Hooray! But we’re still taking entries for the Gallery. ;)

I’m no fashion blogger, but if my memory serves me well, a whole host of fashion shows are coming up. I am thus assuming fashion week is around the corner here in Singapore (correct me fashion bloggers if I am wrong). The shows by various companies have already started happening and I was lucky enough to be invited to attend some of these prestigious invite-only shows. The one by Bimba & Lola at ION Orchard was the most recent on my plate.

My companions for the night were the lovely Raine, Elise and a not-so-mysterious photographer responsible for these brilliant shots.

Bimba & Lola fashion show

I didn’t have to lust over the lovely clothes showcased that much because I personally got to select and keep an outfit from the kind folks of Bimba & Lola. The off-white jacket with gold metal details was the first thing I picked out when I walked into the shop.

As I always say, it had my name all over it. Once I set my eyes on it, I knew I HAD to make it mine. Truly, this is what they call love at first sight. Sometimes, you don’t need to find an outfit, it just finds you. We were meant to be.

HELLO THERE! COMING TO YOU LIVE FROM THE PHILIPPINES!

I’m writing this post from my girl Sandra’s laptop because I love you all so much and know you love reading about Sneaker Sunday as much as I love writing about it. I had to do this post here this week because I got my very awesome pair of Ed Hardy pink high cut ones right here in the Philippines. Thus, being back here this week, I just had to pay tribute to them in the “motherland” because those sneakers are teh winz! Unfortunately, I won’t be showcasing them this week. You’ll have to stayed tuned to see them in the new few posts. :D

This week, Violet and I have decided to give some coordination tips on how to wear your sneakers and your flats.

I decided to cover the sneaker side of things because I’m definitely more of a sneaker girl. As a testament to my love for sneakers, I actually have more sneakers than I do pretty pumps. Oh yes, I was such a tomboy (and actually still am). Haha. The current score stands 5 sneakers to 2 pumps. Kitten heels dont count as pumps right?

For this post, I will show you some of my favourite types of sneakers and suggest ideas on how to wear them other than only pairing it with your usual jeans.

This pair of ADIDAS HIGHRISE SNEAKERS for their new Spring 2010 collection practically has my name on it. I LOVE HIGH CUT SNEAKERS! Don’t you agree they look so comfy? If I had them, I’d wear them with short shorts, a baggy off-shoulder top and layer lotsa chains over it. Definitely aiming for more of a street style with this pair of shoes. I wanna look like I could kick someone’s butt in these shoes. Hahaha.

Now this pair of BAPE GINGHAM HIGHCUT would look totally cute with either a preppy dress or pleated skirt and sweater combination. The print itself is so adorable. Think Gossip Girl: white shirt, loosely undone necktie, pleated skirt and hairband if you wish, with the above. It’s preppy with an attitude. Tres tres chic.

How cute are these SKECHERS WOMEN’S ZEPHYR shoes. I’ve got a pair similar to these from some random shoe shop in KL a while ago and I love how cute they are. They remind me a little of skater shoes and because the front is round, it always makes your feet look cute. Hee hee. I wear them with a flared denim skirt and fitted top with long billowing sleeves. I like how this pair of shoes have a little bit of feminine elegance in them yet are still spunky.

There you go boys and girls, 3 different types of sneakers I would love to own and some ideas on how you can wear them. But I’ve only covered the sneaker side of it. Violet has some ideas in her post on how you can match cute flats for all sorts of occasions, so make sure you also check that out.

Sneaker Sunday last week was very well-received and I have to thank you guys for your awesome support! If you haven’t caught onto the hype, have a look see at last week’s post to see what all the fuss is about. But don’t just sit behind your screen and look. Send me your photos! We want to see more of them in the Gallery! :D
