I’m impressed.

Everyone loves good service. But that was not what I expected when I got my Gmask done at Plaza Singapura. They offered a 1 month warranty after masking covering defects including workmanship and I thought I’d go back and get my mask done again because the prints had somehow faded even though I put my Berry back in its case after I got the mask done. In my mind, it probably was something she didnt do that caused it to fade because I’m careful when it comes to my gadgets.

I mean, I’d used the magic Berry case EVEN after masking. Double protection yknow. Wanted to protect both the mask and the phone.

However, I was sorely disappointed when I went back there. After explaining my situation to the girl at the counter, the salesgirl said that the fading of the print was due to the fact that MY BERRY PLUS THE INSIDE OF THE CASE WAS DIRTY! Hello a 2-month old Berry is not DIRTY. It’s not like I use it while bathing in mud either. I obviously wasnt pleased with her “reason” of my Berry being dirty.

I’d paid good money for this. But sadly, it didnt deliver and live up to my expectations. But hey, since I’d already covered up the original backing (albeit with a high price), I might as well zhng it the way I want it right? Turn the BlackBerry into a BlingBerry without ruining the original cover.

Rummaging through my DIY box, picking up scraps and a couple of hours later, my Berry is now a chio BlingBerry.

But as Murphy would have it, happy with my BlingBerry now, the owners of Gmask themselves actually contacted me via email and offered to remask my berry for me at the original boutiques in either Junction 8 and Suntec!

I’d first said thank you and turned down his kind offer since I’d already covered the mask with my own handicraft. But it was his persistence and strong belief in his own product that impressed me. He honestly didnt have to contact me; he didnt have to offer an explanation that included shouldering the blame and explainiing thoroughly the masking process because the branch I went to at Plaza Singapura was only a franchise and not directly managed by the owners themselves. They dont have direct control over the staff working there.

Despite that, he humbly apologised on behalf of the girl although it was not his responsibility to. It was his sincerity and faith that impressed me. The fact he was able to eat humble pie, unlike so many we usually encounter, is what I called putting service above self. One is able to see that he truly believes in what he’s selling. He even asked for suggestions and feedback with regards on how they could improve. And for someone like me who’s worked in service, I’d never sell anything that I dont personally use or believe in.

So now, my question is what do I bring down for them to remask? My iPod Touch is already blinged up as is my Berry Bold. Maybe I might just get my camera done. Hrm…

I think blue is one of those colours that can be quite tricky to wear. So I decided to do a tutorial on it and surprisingly the effect turned out a little Lady Gaga-ish. We have to thank her for bringing back the rage of wearing cool blues, silver and platinum.

For this tutorial, I got beautiful Michelle to help me as my model using the eyeshadows from SilkMineral.

Dont you just love the final effect? Perfect for a night out in town. I’m immensely proud of my makeup skill too! Hahaha.

If you dare, you can pair the look with blood red lips for a 50s inspired look. I prefer shiny nude pink lips with contoured cheeks so the focus stays on your pretty peepers. Muah!

A dance should speak to you. And this one spoke volumes. You can practically feel the emotion through the screen! Of course it helped that both of them are incredibly strong dancers.

This video made me miss dance so much. Speaking with your body because words are always never enough. I feel the angst/anger in Hip Hop; I feel the pain and emotions in a slow song. Fusing two into one: BEAUTIFUL.

If you and I could dance, that’s how it’d be.

Too many pictures! So little time!

BAH!

Shot Rhythm Stylus today. Sadly, I think I only got a couple of good shots. This is why you should always have two photographers around. One does all the work, while the other one (me), bums around and takes silly shots of the rest. Haha.

Here’s two good ones I picked and edited so far.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Just got back not too long ago from the M.A.C Hello Kitty launch for Media and friends at Vivo City!

I brought along a super date (love love!) and we had oodles of fun ogling and drooling over the colours in the beeeeaaaauuutiffuullll palettes! Of course, M.A.C spared nothing to make us go WILD! There were drinks, finger food and of course, a super cute goody bag specially created for the event!

One picture that tries to sum it all up for now.

Will update with more pictures in the coming posts!

Ahhh…. Sportsmen.

Toned, tanned bodies. Sculpted physiques with muscular lean lines. Rock hard abs and the perspiration that drips off these sexy bodily angles.

YUM~

Someone call the fire department NOW! Tooooooo HOT!

I love love love hot bods. Who doesnt!

Of course, these drool-worthy poster physiques dont come easy.

I remember training hard back in the DAPees days where bodies like that came naturally to us. The daily physical training wasnt easy; it was more than just physically tough. There were mental stumbling blocks we had to overcome too. The fear of failure was a prevalent one. The uncertainty of trying something new, the possibility that the new stunt we’re doing might not work out and hence, cause injury, or just plain feeling like you’re not good enough (how common that is) were more than just feelings; they were our second skin.

But we persevered. And pulled through to the very end because we were there for each other; supporting one another and encouraging each other when we most needed it. But most importantly, we had instructors who made the effort to boost our morales and help us along the way when we met with difficulties. They also celebrated with us every little milestone because it signified the overcoming obstacles that were attached to the particular challenge. It was an eventful 11-month journey of self-discovery, thanks to wonderful friends and superb instructors, all of whom I would like to especially thank. They have set the stone for me to lead a healthy lifestyle in the years to come.

Although I dont dance much nowadays, I have gone back to another sport which was always a first love — running. I never formally competed but have *cough* gathered several medals and trophies for the Annual Road Run or Sports Carnival back in those days.

I know how it feels to have your body in tip-top condition. To feel good about your body and know without a doubt that it’ll perfectly fit in your clothes. Having your body that fit also translates to a better immune system and thus less chance that you’ll fall sick! Not to mention the adrenalin rush that comes from having worked out – a natural blusher that is entirely organic.

However, it isnt always easy to for me to pry my bum off the chair after a hard day at work. But a certain individual who will always hold the title of Sports King in my eyes, despite finishing his reign last year, has served as a constant reminder and inspiration for me to put on my running shoes almost twice a week. Through his example and sheer dedication to ensuring he fits in his runs whenever he can into his already insanely packed schedule, not only have I become physically more fit, I feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that I can now run longer distances when initially I gawked at the thought of it. I feel happier too because although I have now put my dancing shoes back in their boxes and essentially given up a sport that combined both physical conditioning and a passion of mine, I have an alternative that I very much enjoy and can also do with like-minded people. For that, he will always be a Sports King and Sports Champion in my eyes.

I never knew how to thank him, but the opportunity has arisen. The POSB Everyday Champions Award is perfect for expressing my appreciation toward the above-mentioned individual. For always encouraging and standing by me, for being a healthy role model and showing me the joy of a healthy lifestyle, he certainly deserves to be recognised.

My nomination for this award, thus, goes out to him, my Sports King and Champion. ;)
