Hello! My name is Valerie and I am the face behind dweam.com.
dweam.com, a Singapore Beauty Blog, was created to help inspire and share the beauty tips and advice I’ve gathered through my experience in the dance, modeling and pageant fields. I spent a good part of my teenaged years as a geeky bespectacled girl, but through much exposure in these various fields, have learnt what works to best enhance my looks. I’m don’t claim to be an expert and still have a lot to learn, but am definitely pleased that whatever I have subscribed to so far has worked to bring me where I am today. It is, thus, through this blog that I want to share with you my beauty journey.
As a current title holder Miss Universe Singapore 2011 and previously earning the title Miss Earth Singapore 2009, has taught me many beauty practises mainly from trial and error. Having seen the different beauty standards of the various countries, I thought I’d share them with you too. But if there’s anything that I learnt in these pageants and managing to land a Top 16 spot in Miss Earth, it’s that beauty is not just about who looks the prettiest. It was the girl who could compose herself best under times of duress that stood out and eventually won the crown.
I fully believe that beauty is a state of mind and we can and all should dream of the beautiful to be truly outstanding. We are all winners in our own right, but everyone’s crown is different. Someone’s crown can be made of crystals, sapphires, rubies or pearls or really, it could even just the simple growth of your heart. Being beautiful is truly an art.
Through my makeup tutorials, beauty reviews, features and DIYs I will show you that although not everyone can be a beauty queen, everyone can be beautiful if you open your mind. How’s it going? While I was expanding my network online today through Twitter and following people that reside in Singapore. I found your blog Dweam.com I have to say I am quite impressed on the quality of your blog posts.
