I am officially in love with the Kiehl’s Epidermal Re-Texturizing Micro-Dermabrasion. This product is absolutely fantastic and I will tell you exactly why in this review.

First, I will tell you what this product is supposed to do. It is an epidermal re-texturising micro-dermabrasion and is thus supposed to re-texturise your epidermis via micro-dermabrasion. Haha. Okay, in short, it’s kinda like a scrub. It smoothens your skin surface via tiny particles in the product. I’ve written about how useful a scrub is for keeping skin baby smooth and soft and the same goes for your face.

Now, I will tell you what’s inside this product that helps you do just that.

There are three main components as listed in the Kiehl’s website.

Micronized Shells (Diatomatious Earth)
dia-to-may-shus
A naturally occurring crystalline silica derived from diatoms, unicellular microscopic algae. This fine silica powder is a natural exfoliant to eliminate dead cells located in the epidermis or surface layer of the skin.

Shea Butter
SHAY BUH-t’r
Shea Butter is the natural fat obtained from the fruit of the African Karate tree and is widely used in lotions and cleansing products for its hydrating properties. Protects skin from dehydration, restores skin’s suppleness and improves the appearance of dry skin.

Willow Herb (Epilobium Angustifolium)
will-oh errb
Derived from a plant commonly known as fireweed or willow herb. This plant is known to have anti-microbial and soothing properties for skin.

Unrefined skin texture with visible appearance of pores? Well, this Kiehl’s Epidermal Re-Texturizing Micro-Dermabrasion (trying say it really really fast) gets rid of them.

After one use, my skin was instantly more radiant, pores were visibly smaller and skin surface was smoother. I’ve always fretted about the appearance of my pores, but one use and my pores were instantly reduced. Oh yes! It was also hard to tear my fingers away from my new velvety skin. My new skin surface was so smooth it looked as though water would slide off it like water off a duck’s back.

The product is gentle on the skin and non-fragranced. Although the price is a little steep (SGD$92 at any Kiehl’s outlet), it’s not just ANY scrub. It’s the Kiehl’s Epidermal Re-Texturizing Micro-Dermabrasion and will probably last you an entire year giving you smooth and radiant skin the entire time you use it.

I haven’t used any other DIY micro-dermabrasion products (nor have I actually heard of any. have you?) but in my books, this is a keeper and I promise to use it 2 times a week along side my regular hydration routine. I adore seeing my skin after a good scrub and this product delivers results. Good skin care is sooooo important, wouldn’t you agree?

The Kiehl’s Epidermal Re-Texturizing Micro-Dermabrasion is available at any Kiehl’s outlet or good departmental stores.

Victoria’s Secret is possibly the ONE brand that every girl knows. For sure, it’s probably the only lingerie brand that every male species on the planet has heard of. Haha. But not only does Victoria’s Secret do lingerie, they have clothes too. I swear by their pants! That’s, however, totally besides the point. Haha. Well, my fellow Singaporean guys and girls, if you’ve never been able to get your hands on anything VS, it’s time to rejoice, because Victoria’s Secret now has a branch open in Resorts World Sentosa right here in Singapore.

When my girls Sandra and Adie came down to visit me 2 weeks ago, Resorts World Singapore was one of the few places that I HAD to bring them to. It was also my virgin venture there with them.

With my Miss Earth girls, Sandra and Adie

Entering Resorts World, we walked the long hallways of luxury brands. The ceilings were high, the corridors were wide. People were milling about with their cameras, taking in the atmosphere. Everything was so shiny, sparkly, spacious and super. But I really was there for ONE thing, and one thing only.

When I finally spotted the familiar pink and black sign with the ceiling down poster of one their sexy Angels, I knew I was home. Unlike the casino that you have to pay $100 to enter, stepping into this lingerie heaven is completely free. How much you spend in here is entirely up to you. Your losses may be recuperated in the bedroom but that’s not a guarantee given the size of the store.

The lingerie collection doesn’t exactly live up to the Victora’s Secret image we all have in our heads. The reaaalllyyy sexy stuff probably got confiscated along the way here on the grounds that it might distract pilots flying the aircraft. I found myself wondering where all the frilly, lacy thongs I’m so used to browsing online were.

What the store does boast though, is a lovely collection of their Beauty Rush makeup and fragrances. I can now stock up on my favourite Amber Rose Victoria’s Secret Garden Collection body mists and eau de toilettes direct from here! Stuff I used to only be able to get if someone returned from overseas. Apart from these, comfortable sleepwear and cute underwear from the VS PINK collection also make up the bulk of items in this Resorts World outlet.

The prices of the clothing were a little too steep for my liking. As much as I loved the adorable tanks with their signature logos and cheeky taglines, paying $60 for a cotton tank top just wasn’t my thing.

I did, however, hover over the gorgeous accessory counter for the longest time. I was mostly interested in this gold bag charm with cursive VS letters dangling off it. Too pretty to ignore, but a bit too pricey to buy. As a present though, I’d definitely buy it for Christmas alongside the Beauty Rush lipgloss. If however, this Resorts World outlet is gonna be the first of many VS stores here in Singapore, I’d definitely hope they bring in more of the other yummy goodies we all know and love Victoria’s Secret for.

Earth Hour is on hand! 3 and a half hours away in fact. In the spirit of going green, here are some things you can do for Earth Hour today.

If you’re intending to prune your trees, plants or even mow your lawn this Saturday (why you would do that on a Saturday I have no idea), gorgeous Miss Earth Venezuela, Jessica Barboza, has a tip for you. Not only is this girl a looker, she is also smart. Jessica is a lawyer and was one to look out for during the entire Miss Earth pageant. I remember seeing her for the first time and wondering how such a beauty could exist. She reminded me of Victoria Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio! But this beauty has an important green message to spread, and I’m sure she’ll do it well as 2nd Runner up of the Miss Earth pageant. Here’s her green tip from the Miss Earth calendar.

Instead of bagging cut grass, they can be left on the lawn to rot. These will decompose and contribute to soil enrichment.

We can do the same for our plants. If leaves dry up and fall off their branches, instead of throwing them away, sweep them up and put them back in the pot as fertiliser! You save money, save your plants and save Mother Earth.

During Earth Hour today, if you’re afraid of not knowing what you can do to entertain yourself, here are some fun things you can do while the lights are out and STILL reduce your carbon footprint!

1. Have a green dance party!
In the blackout hour today, call a few friends over to your place, get them all dressed in green, turn on the radio, pop in a feel-good CD and just dance your night away in the dark! One track I would recommend is Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance with Somebody. Such a classic feel-good song! While you’re at it, use a fan instead of the air-conditioner because air-conditioners are not environmentally friendly. Or just have your party outdoors!

2. Tell ghost stories in the dark
Turn off your lights, draw the blinds and curtains, light a solitary candle and huddle round in a room with lotsa pillows. Start by sharing your spooky stories and soon enough you find time has gone by in an instant! Even better if you could have your story-telling in the dark forest with tall looming trees in the background. Sets the ambiance don’t you think?

3. Go out for a romantic walk by the beach or in a park.
Air conditioners produce a LOT of CO2, more specifically 3605kg of it. But spending your night outside in the fresh air? 0kg. So why not take your loved ones out to the East Coast Park for a leisurely stroll and enjoy the beautiful sea breeze. You can also sit in one of our lovely parks and have a quiet tête-à-tête.

4. Star light, star bright.
Because of light pollution, it’s generally quite hard to star-gaze in our little island. But because tonight, we’ll have our lights off during 8.30pm to 9.30pm. Take this time to and act out the scene from Twilight. Go to a meadow, lie down and sparkle, watch the stars. No sunlight for you to sparkle in though. The stars, however, will twinkle in the dark night sky because it’s their time to shine.

5. Take a cold shower.
A hot shower will produce 110kg of carbon dioxide (CO2) but a cold one produces NONE at all! Some energy is used to deliver the water to the house but you can always try to reduce it by having two people in the shower. Hahaha!

Any other ideas for something fun you can do during Earth Hour in the dark? ;)

It’s Earth Hour today! Remember to mark the time down people:

8.30pm to 9.30pm (local time)

About 9 hours before it’s Earth Hour! Counting down to when we all turn off our lights to help save the environment.

Do your little bit by turning off non-essential lights for just one hour today. But that’s not all you can do, you can turn off your air-conditioner and use the fan to show how much you care. Even better plan a block party with some friends and enjoy the natural evening breeze Mother Nature has to offer!

Turning off these appliances will help to conserve the Earth’s natural resources, reduce your carbon footprint and lead to a cleaner, healthier environment for our future. You are just one person but YOU can change the world by taking action.

It’s all in the name of going green. As for me, here’s my pledge to going green: a green Face of the Day!

I am so jealous! Jonna Chen’s design of The Flora is the best entry as selected by promoters!

And guess what she wins?

Vouchers plus a Studio 15 laptop with her winning design!

How many people can say they got a laptop free and then proudly show off the design on the cover saying they designed it? Well, Jonna can. Lucky girl!

In fact, I really like her design. The Flora shows the lively and vibrant colours of Mother Nature through the use of varied colours and different sized flowers. Very pretty! I love the bold use of colours and large flower motifs. Very “environmentally friendly” I must say. Miss Earth approves. Haha.

A design voted MOST POPULAR by you is Ribbon Madness by Kelly Ong.

I had something like that in mind when I designed mine for my first post, but my final product didnt turn out exactly how I envisioned it. Hrm… Hahaha. She definitely did a MUCH better job at it than I did. Well done Kelly! Talented Kelly wins herself some lovely shopping vouchers.

Two brilliant designs by the two girls that show off their creativity and their own personality. But if you’re a fashionista who worries about matching nail colour to your outfits or accessories, you will be ecstatic when you hear about the new OPI series that Dell has to offer. Instead of ACTUALLY painting your laptop with nail polish, this probably is the next best thing.

Not only does the laptop look beautiful with whichever gorgeous nail lacquer shade you choose, the processor is actually a NEW 2010 Intel Core i5 Processor. This means smarter performance with a speed boost and faster multitasking, saving you time and increasing efficiency. Beauty with substance. HOW COOL IS THAT? Don’t we all wish we were built like that too?

With the launch of the Alice in Wonderland OPI nail polish collection not too long ago, I wonder if they have colours for that particular range on the Dell Studio 15 laptops. If you’re getting curious-er and curious-er about what other awesome designs Dell can offer, click on Make It Yours to see the other wonderful designs you can get on your laptop to Make It truly Yours.

It is so hard to capture priceless moments, because they’re well, priceless. I know exactly how hard it is to capture THE ONE shot. You usually need to take about hundreds before you find the most perfect one. Hahaha. You really cant put a price tag on that one moment; no amount of money will ever allow you to buy them. I love them so much because they’re simply beautiful. They may come and go so fleetingly, but stay forever etched in our hearts and memories.

Although they’re so hard to catch, when you do capture a special moment with your camera, it is a priceless photo. A memory that we can forever hold dear to our hearts; beauty frozen in time. What does a priceless moment mean to you? If you share your priceless moment with the world, it becomes something wonderful; something beautiful that everyone can enjoy.

Now you can do just that with your priceless moment photos in the FEVO Photo Contest; a YEAR LONG celebration that pays tribute to the different seasons in our life. Your priceless moment could be something as simple as a kind smile from a stranger, a moment with your favourite ice-cream or even a random, spontaneous expression!

I shall unofficially declare this season of my life: JOY because 2010 is gonna be an awesome year! So, here are some priceless moments of my own that I treasure:

The energy and innocence of children playing with the simpler things in life ALWAYS makes for a good photo opportunity. This shot for me feels like I’m capturing the little boy’s happiness while he’s playing in the fountain. It reminds me that sometimes, it’s the simplest things in life that makes us happy.

And what about celebrating the season of love? The joy of a newly married couple is infectious and a once in a lifetime thing. How many people get to spend their lives with the one person they truly want to? The smiles and exuberance of the bride and groom in this picture tells me that all they really need is each other. Jump for joy people!

These are some of the priceless moments I’ve come across and captured. What are your priceless moments? Share with me!

The contest period for this particular “Priceless Moments” season is 1 Jan 2010 – 31 March 2010. Send in your “Priceless Moments” photos to the FEVO Photo Contest because you might just land yourself a brand new iPhone or iPod Touch! It’s an easy contest because all you have to do is get votes.

Top voted photos will win the iPhone or iTouch. Something you can use to keep ALL your priceless moments photos in and carry wherever.

Sounds too good to be true? Well, this is a priceless contest, so send in your amazing photos in now. I think I’ll send in the one of the couple jumping for joy. What do you guys think?
