I have been raving about the arrival of Spring and the new launches of makeup lines (read: M.A.C Hello Kitty) that follow in its brilliant floral trail. With my recent acquisition of several makeup magazines and a whole new set of Everyday Minerals spring eye colours, I decided to ignite the creative spirit in me and be adventurous with my eye makeup.

As spring is about all things bright and cheery, I decided that gold is THE colour to have this year.

This first look is inspired by the golden sun and the lush green grass. I think many of us dream of applying green eyeshadow, yet never know how to for fear of looking like a green-eyed monster (literally). Thus, I decided to choose a really light green colour to go with the brilliant gold colour of my eyes.

My mineral spring look is made up of entirely mineral makeup items save for the eyeshadow base, mascara and eyeliner.

Face
Everyday Minerals foundation in Warm Medium Beige
Bare Minerals All Over Face Colour in A Little Sun

Eyes
M.A.C Paint Pot in Rubenesque
Everyday Minerals eyeshadow in Butterfly Kisses & Glass Bottom Boat
Kate Gel eyeliner in Black
Too Faced Lash Injection mascara

Lips
Everyday Minerals Pink Lemonade Lip gloss
(this thing is actually 100% vegan)

That night, I went out again and decided to stick to using gold as the base. But for a night look, I tried a darker/stronger second colour also using mineral makeup. You’d be surprised that their eyeshadows are pretty pigmented for a wonderfully cheap price. The only gripe that some people may have about them is that they come in loose powder forms.

Face
Everyday Minerals foundation in Buff Light Neutral
M.A.C blush in Pinch-o-peach

Eyes
M.A.C Paint Pot in Rubenesque
Everyday Minerals eyeshadow in Butterfly Kisses
Bare Minerals glimmer eyeshadow in 1990′s
Kate Gel eyeliner in Black
Too Faced Lash Injection mascara
Maybelline XXL volume+length microfiber mascara

Lips
Artistry lip gloss in Signature

As you can tell because I used a different foundation shade, the colour of the skin differs in both pictures. I never actually noticed the subtle difference but the Warm category one makes my face a little bit more orangey and hence seem a little more tanned. The Buff category one, on the other hand, provides some hint of pink giving a more cherubic look.

I dare say, my makeup skills are improving a teeeeeeeennnny bit.

I think Domo agrees too. Haha.

Trends come and go, but this is one new bag that you tech savvy babes should wave hello to because it’s probably going to stick around for a while. I know a hot bag when I see one.

Cool transparent bags are totally fab, because they flaunt your status like a badge. And naturally, you need to be seen carrying all the right gems inside.

Here’s what I carry in my IT bag:

1. A thumbdrive so I can plug in important information whenever I need.

2. A pair of cute pink earphones so Im constantly plugged into the trendiest music

3. This adorable bright pink gadget.

“What does it do? Why do you need it?” I hear you ask.

Well, tis an important tool if you want softer, smoother and healthier skin.

I carry it about because it provides a refreshing experience when my skin needs a perk-me-up. The cool to the skin tingly foam stimulates circulation and provides a good facial massage relaxing tight muscles. Super when I’ve just had a hard day at work. The gadget is battery operated thus making it portable and is also water resistant. I can use it anywhere on the go! Even in the shower! All your have to do is keep it under running water to activate the cleansing pad.

But more importantly, because the gentle vibrating motion simulates a scrub and this penetrates deep into my pores, it offers my skin a superior cleaning action. And the effects are visible in one wash! After one wash, my skin is smooth and my pores are smaller! Whooohoooo!

Dermatologist tested, this Wave Power Cleanser is by Neutrogena by Johnson and Johnson. The formula is so gentle that I can use this everyday without worrying about damaging my skin. Results after using a couple of days, are impressive; my skin is refreshed, rejuvenated and I FEEL refreshed! Because the ergonomically designed gadget fits in the palm of your hand and comes with a 2 week supply of foaming pads that you attach to the head of the power cleanser, it’s so easy for you to begin your journey on the waves of a totally fun facial experience.

So what say you girls? Make this fun little gadget part of your daily cleansing routine and watch your skincare routine ride the waves to a totally new level.

It’s midweek! I was going through my makeup drawers and I found a couple of things that I have never touched since the day they landed in my possession. They’re all brand new and of course, in good condition!

Which is why, I am giving them away for FREE.

No strings attached.

Because I got them without having to pay anything, I’m returning the favour and passing on the goodwill to my readers. Also, a sort of reward for them for following my sometimes nonsensical journey.

This month the stuff is pretty branded and I get these things when I attend events or buy beauty products from overseas. Especially drugstore.com, they just throw tonnes of samples at you when you shop with them. And I just got me a brand new set of makeup stuff shipped from the US of A.

So anyway, all you have to do is leave a comment with your name, email and the item you want. Of course, the first person who asks for the item gets it!

And the items are….

#1 Covermark sample foundation in 03 Reserved!

#2 LORAC Perfectly Lit Spotlight Oil-free Luminizing powder Reserved!

#3 Shiseido Dual Balancing Foundation Reserved!

#4 Anna Sui Pore Refiner Reserved!

I’ve been away for the weekend but am back! I had a fabulous weekend coupled with a tint of a tan from frolicking in the sun. Coming up will be a slew of posts with super pictures! But now, the post you’ve been waiting for.

Your two roving reports for the night.

Miao Mi and Miao Mu with our Hello Kitty lipglass moustaches.

There was quite a lot of buzz around this collection and we were super psyched to see what they had in store for us. Although we had some sneak peaks in the form of press releases, it was different when you literally got your paws (pun fully intended!) on it.

It all happened at Vivo City, and it was slated to be an event for media and friends. It was pretty interesting to see the who’s who present for the awesome unveiling of the collection.

A peep into the booth and, wait a minute! Is that a familiar face I see? Yes, some local celebs we scouted included Channel 8 artistes including Quan Yi Feng and Mark Lee. Celebrity stylist Addy Lee was there too.

Of course in the interest of being cool and “important”, you must always remember never to act fangirly in front of celebrities.

Anyway, interesting sights inside included, a Hello Kitty with a MAN’S BODY.

And Hello Kitty balloons! Haha.

Then, the models from the editorials magically walked out of their portraits and appeared on two separate stages. Presenting Kitty Mild and Kitty Wild!

So purty! Beauty that makes all of us feel inferior. The girls were swamped with requests from everyone for a photo opportunity which they willingly obliged.

As Belle and I mingled, we were served hors d’oeuvres and adorable pink drinks that surprised us. They were mixed with alcohol! Haha. There was a make up booth right smack in the centre with the two different collections on display. And we zoomed in on them like hunting hawks testing out the colours on our skin. Hello swatches!

The Too Dolly palette tested on my skin and Belle’s skin. I particularly like how the green and fuchsia turn out. Meowr! The Milk pigment was sooooo beautiful too! It felt like fairy dust and I wanted to sprinkle it all round and dance in the middle of it. Haha.

I then, decided to give the Mild Lucky Tom palette a shot, testing out the purple and black.

Looks like a pretty good combination to me! And they might just be more suited for daily use.

Other than the make up range that is making a splash, there were cute little accessories like the 14″ plush doll, compact mirrors, bracelets, soft vanity cases and limited edition brushes available too.

Although the event was a private one, and we lucky invited guests got to see the items up close firsthand, there were others who wanted in on the action. Check out the crowd in the background in a failed attempt to camwhore with the Hello Kitty ribbon shaped cookies.

And what’s a beauty event without a goody bag?!

The bag was a specially printed one created just for the event. Fantastic! Inside, there was a Tangs voucher for you to get some of the lovely stuff after the event, brochures, an adorable Kitty tattoo and samples! We each got one eyeshadow and a Hello Kitty Lipglass Lip Gloss each! My Lipglass was called Nice Kitty – a wonderful bright pink that gives your lips a healthy flush of colour.

Eyeshadow in Concrete and Nanogold.

I tried the Lip Glass and really liked it because when the lipgloss “dries” your lips look like they’re glassed over, making them shiny and pouty.

My M.A.C face:
Eyes – Royal Assets palette in Smoky Eye,
Cheeks – Pinch ‘o’ Peach
Lips – Lipglass Lip gloss in Nice Kitty

Because we hadnt had our dinner prior to the event, we adjourned for dinner afterward and attempted to eat the yummy-licious lip gloss. Haha!

You can tell the extent of its yummy-ness by how hungry Belle looks. She looks like she’s about to swallow it. Haha!

Twas so much fun. And I have to say a big thank you to Joey from M.A.C for the invite. Thanks babe! A lovely polaroid at the cute M.A.C Hello Kitty wall to end the night off.

After much hard work, I’ve finally gotten MY ending of the Not So Secret Lives contest out. And there’s this constant itch going at me, telling me to edit it and make it better. Sigh.

After so much woe, DWEAM.COM IS FINALLY MINE!

I have joined the league of bloggers that have .com extensions to their names! Wo0o0o0ot!

dweam.com
dweam.com
dweam.com

If you’re still using the address dweam.lah.cc, dont worry, it still works! Because the best part is the programmer/owner/whatever you want to call him, made it such that if you typed the old address, you still get brought to the site but but, the name at the top is DWEAM.COM! And also also also, the permalinks for all my posts, DONT GET AFFECTED.

It’s just like getting your hair colour changed, only that one thing is modified, nothing else changes.

HOORAYYYYYY!

Isn’t dweam.com catchy too?!

Seriously, although I was bugging him online and sending him tonnes of offline messages, wailing about every nitty gritty thing not working, asking him for nameservers and what nots, he replied and helped me calmly through all that technology mumbo jumbo. THAT is what I call service dudes. THUMBS UP!

So if you need a good blog host with a wordpress layout and want to well, make money from blogging (I still dont think wordpress allows Nuffnang ads), then, LAH.CC is the host for you. Wo0o0o0ot. I cant believe this blog is almost two years old. But it’s been what, almost six or seven years since I started blogging.

Wanna take a stab at how many other blog services I’ve used so far? Haha.
