Whoopdeedooo! Complimentary tickets to The Office Party from Nuffnang! I love all things theatre, but this time since I’d just indulged myself in Avenue Q, I sent Mum and Dad to watch The Office Party. Moreover, y’know I heard that there’d be mature themes, Im still young and impressionable (HAHA!). At the same time, I thought maybe it’d help rekindle some of the naughty flames between them. And hopefully translate to some late night action. HAHAHA. Why dont older people get action anymore? HMMMMMMMMMMM.

Anyway, here’s briefly looking at what transpired between Mum and Dad.

Okay. In truth, Mum was really excited to get some action that night. When they both arrived home that very night, Mum went straight TO THE COMPUTER, while the TV watched Dad snooze in front of it. Imagine my disappointment.

So here’s the ACTION Mum got with the computer that very night after a naughty Office Party.

Little Black Dress, high strappy heels,red lipstick, perfume….?

Oh, The Office Party, not YOUR office party.”

It was exciting going to THE Office Party. To watch the comedy directed by Tracie Pang. Yes, she is the wife of Adrian Pang. My little eyes spotted Adrian and Tracie (oooh, first names…) in the aisle of the Singapore Repertory Theatre. Adrian is the actor in Parental Guidance and game host of Deal or No Deal… and a whole host of other Mediacorp shows and theatre acts.

Back to The Party.

There was only one main set… The Office. It is great work to revolve the whole show round this set. The party happens in one of the meeting rooms. I like the realistic looking lift the cast walked in and out of. The office computer displays the date as the days pass and change. A very smooth flow of day changes and costume change made everything so realistic.

Ah Girl appears… Cynthia Lee Macquarrie, ooh as Pippa a bimbotic office girl.. whose stunning performance of baring her thonged cheeks was a memorable one: black thongs and butt cheeks. Remember “mature themes, strictly for audiences 16 and above”.

Jason Chan (Remember Green Ranger in Power Rangers?) plays the Good guy Andy whilst Michael Corbridge is Bob, the office “Stud”. Cute Shane Mardjuki as the nerdy office boy Lee has a great crewcut Mohican hairdo. Kudos to the clothes and hair team…. one takes note of Bob’s tee shirts. Prints you can read and smile. Pippa struts in mini mini red Tartan skirt and black and white lace trim knee high socks and heels… hot! Sexy schoolgirl charm.

James Shubert wakes you up with his good loud vocals as The Boss, Gavin who lectures his staff for wasting office time on their Facebook.

Wendy Kweh (Masters of the Sea?) struts in sexily as Jo… great legs, body perfect in the Little Black Dress. She must be the Office Tart who is supposed to entertain the clients and bring back the $2m deal.

Susan Tordoff as “old” Patty reveals literally that she’s sleeping with the Boss who could not “come” cause “She’s nice”. One will not forget the Office Cleaning lady who loots Pippa’s blue fuzzy heart pen and the table top Xmas tree.

The cast were perfect… no bloopers, as they realistically acted their roles and delivered their lines in true showmanship. The office photocopy machine did clear shots of Pippa’s thonged butt and Bob’s hairy ass which he faxed to another office.

The Office Party which I was looking forward to, was a revelation session. Characters slip in and out of the board room to “spill the beans”. The beginning was a hilarious rollercoaster ride. Fun, giggles, jokes. When the ride ended, I felt a lump in my throat for each character. A lump for the end of the ride. A lump because the party ended. There were not many conquests. Sadness for the Good guy Andy… who works late like most Daddies, who gets nagged and a phone slam from the wife when he calls to say “I am working late”. It reminds us to be nice in these times cause lucky Daddy works late, he still has a job.

Thumbs up for “The Office Party”. Live Comedy is not easy to do. Applause. Applause.
