ser·en·dip·i·tous

–adjective
1. come upon or found by accident; fortuitous: serendipitous scientific discoveries.
2. of, pertaining to, or suggesting serendipity.
3. good; beneficial; favorable: serendipitous weather for our vacation.

Unfortunately this was not the case this very morning. I woke up and somewhat had an argument a heated discussion with my brother, as I was preparing a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch later that day, about how/why my precious DSLR was not working properly. Sidetrack: I absolutely loathe having to prepare my own lunch for the day because 1) it means having to get up extra early (!!!!!11!111!!!!1!!!) and it 2) usually results in me leaving the house later than I had planned to (because I obviously dont make the effort to wake up early allowing sufficient time for food preparation). On the up side, preparing lunch at home means saving $$$! And I think I’ve saved quite a bit this week already by eating ham and cheese the past two days. I had cup noodles the very first day at school which left me VERY VERY hungry by the end of the day. Guh. Which brings me to my most important point, THAT PREPARING LUNCH AT HOME TO BRING TO WORK/SCHOOL IS TOTALLY INSUFFICIENT because the portion is so tiny! I cant possibly prepare a triple decker ham and cheese sandwich with tomatoes and cucumbers because it is related to point 1) and of course inextricably linked to 2)! See where this is going. But anyway, I digress.

So, as you would have already figured, I wasnt in the best of moods. And having to try and figure out them techie stuff that clearly would take up loads of my time, just got the grumpy gear going. I couldnt believe my bleedy DSLR wasnt working. The shutter was taking a terribly long time to go off after the button had been depressed. AND WHAT GREAT TIMING BECAUSE I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO CHECK OUT THE CANON PHOTOMARATHON THIS VERY SATURDAY! Pfffft.

But regardless of whether I was supposed to go to a photomarathon or not, it was still very upsetting to know that this thousand dollar piece of equipment I had so lovingly invested in, HAD KONKED OUT ON ME. I was ready to rip the guts out of anyone.

However, on the account of my own ingenuity (and the suggestion of a certain TehS), THE CAMERA IS FIXED! I saw the LIGHT!

LOOK MA, PICTURES!

And to think I was worrying about the itsy bitsy details about limited warranties that never fail to perplex and antagonise me.

So all’s well, ends well. One cam-whore picture to end the post. Totally expected of course, when a “broken” camera is up and running again.

I cant believe I resisted buying TWO new Anna Sui mascaras that were on SALE SALE SALE. Ugh. Self-control can be a totally disastrous thing.
